Netflix’s Yu Yu Hakusho: A Near-Perfect Live-Action Anime Adaptation
In December 2023, Netflix unexpectedly dropped a near-perfect live-action adaptation of the classic 1990s manga series Yu Yu Hakusho. The five-episode fantasy-adventure show featured young Japanese acting star Takumi Kitamura as the manga’s protagonist Yusuke Urameshi, whose heroic death led him to become a detective of the Underworld.
