Amanda Seyfried‘s new movie The Testament of Ann Lee just had its world premiere at the 2025 Venice Film Festival, and the Oscar-nominated star spoke about how freeing it was to play the radical religious leader. Directed by Mona Fastvold, Ann Lee depicts the Shakers religious sect in the 18th century, revolving around the titular founder, believed to be a female Christ.
